Parents,
I want to ensure that you know my expectations, so below you will find what I have verbally outlined with my students.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS and CONSEQUENCES
MATERIALS: Students are expected to have the required materials in class every day.
If a student does not have the required materials (comp. book, IRB, pencil, etc.) he or she should borrow one from another student. If supplies are left in their locker, students will not be able to go and retrieve them. Students should not rely on the teacher for materials and supplies. If homework is left at home or in the locker, students will receive a zero until it is turned in for a late grade.
BEHAVIOR: Students are expected to follow teacher instructions and respect one-another and their learning.
Students are responsible for all of their actions.
In an effort to maintain consistency across Community House Middle School, the following procedures for handling the minor, everyday classroom infractions have been laid out as follows:
1st Level: Warning to student (verbal, move seat, etc.)
2nd Level: Ten-Minute Time Out to Teammate (Parent contacted)
3rd Level: Teacher-Designated Consequence (Parent contacted)
(lunch detention with teacher, work detail, before-school/after-school detention with teacher, loss of Teen Time, immediate parent phone communication with child present, parent conference, other as approved by administrator)
4th Level: Class Removal - for remainder of class (Parent contacted)
**Teacher will call parent; next offense will result in teacher submitting a referral to the Grade Level Administrator
5th Level: Referral to Grade Level Administrator (AP)
**A referral will generally result in ASD with the AP, ISS, or OSS and will be recorded in student's Power School records
More serious issues, such as disrespect, profanity, or fighting, may be dealt with immediately.
Parents should always feel free to contact me with any questions about behavior or other concerns.
